Intermittently I have a check engine light on with a flashing D, when the drive light is flashing, the engine bucks with acceleration. I had the code read at Autozone and it gave me a P0344 which indicates a failure with the cam position sensor. D LIGHT BLINKING - ENGINE LIGHT ON - Aamco told me I needed new transmission at $2,500. I wanted another opinion so I took my 2002 Honda Odyssey to an honest mechanic who fixes my cars regularly. He said it was probably the POWER STEERING SWITCH that makes the D light blink and shorts out the engine light so it stays on.

I checked the Automatic Transmission Fluid and it appeared fine, topped off and not discolored, i just had it at the Dealer for a new starter and they checked all the fluids.

No more flashing "D" coming back so far and it appears to be shifting fine.
